What was the Jaxx Liberty wallet?

Jaxx Liberty was a multi-asset cryptocurrency wallet created by Decentral. It gave people a single place to view and manage supported digital currencies, check balances, and follow market information.

Unlike an exchange account, a self-custody wallet is designed around keys controlled by the wallet holder. Jaxx Liberty used a recovery phrase—a sequence of words that could help restore access in compatible wallet software. That phrase was the crucial backup, not a password that a support team could reset for you.

The app was available across desktop and mobile, with an interface intended to make several assets easier to track. Its convenience did not remove the responsibilities that come with self-custody: protecting a recovery phrase, keeping devices secure, and checking every address before sending funds.

Botanical still life representing a pause and a fresh start A NOTE ON THE TIMELINE

The service has been discontinued.

Jaxx Liberty was discontinued on March 27, 2023. That means the original app is no longer an active wallet service, and people should not expect its former features or support channels to continue as before.

That history matters if you have an old installation or are searching for a download today. A website or app claiming to be a current Jaxx Liberty release may not be genuine. Avoid installing files from unfamiliar pages, and be wary of anyone promising to reactivate an account in exchange for your recovery phrase or a fee.

A discontinued app is not a reason to rush. Pause, verify independently, and never share your secret phrase.

If you’re a former user, take it one step at a time.

The safest next move depends on your situation. Start by understanding what you have, then verify any action through trustworthy sources before proceeding.

01

Find your own records

Look for a recovery phrase or backup you created when setting up the wallet. Do not photograph it, upload it, or paste it into a website to “check” whether it works.

02

Verify the destination

If you choose to use another wallet, confirm its reputation, official download source, supported assets, and recovery process independently. Compatibility varies by asset and wallet.

03

Move deliberately

Never act under pressure from a message, pop-up, or stranger. If transferring funds, understand the network and address, and consider a small test transaction where appropriate.

This guide is general education, not financial, legal, or technical support. It cannot recover funds or verify a recovery phrase. Digital asset transactions can be irreversible.

Your recovery phrase belongs to you. Full stop.

Anyone who obtains it may be able to control assets associated with it. Legitimate helpers do not need you to reveal it in chat, by email, or through a remote-access session.

  • 01Never share a recovery phrase or private key.
  • 02Ignore unexpected “wallet migration” links.
  • 03Use verified sources and take time to double-check.
